The PLM Analyst is dedicated to supporting the engineering and documentation control needs for a globally expanding and dynamic engineering department. JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The PLM Analyst is dedicated to supporting the engineering and documentation control needs for a globally expanding and dynamic engineering department. This role will be directly responsible for successful delivery of PLM process transformation and technology implementations.  Overall the preferred candidate must possess a solid understanding of industry PLM proven best practices and the ability to leverage technology to support the overall product development process.  The candidate will have a deeper understanding of Product Data Management concepts, SAP PLM experience, Team Center PDM, Change Control and Product Development management needs as well as exposure to the Audio Electronics Industry. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with engineering and documentation control personnel to understand their business needs and translate those needs into IT solutions and/or IT design specifications
  • Review existing engineering processes within SAP and provide guidance on new or existing features in SAP to help improve engineering efficiency and quality across multiple sites globally.
  • Develop, test and implement new functionality.
  • Create documentation for engineers on how to effectively use SAP functions, including functions in PLM, ECM, workflow and notifications, as well as general SAP engineering-related functions (Material Masters, BOMs, DMS etc)
  • Provide training to engineers on all engineering-related SAP functionality
  • Create specifications for custom reports for engineering metrics
  • Manage and support mass migration and updating of SAP part and BOM data
  • Troubleshooting any SAP issues encountered by engineers and documentation control personnel.

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering
  • At least 5 years experience in Understanding Product data management concepts and working on PLM implementations or within the Product Development function of a company
  • At least 2 full life cycle implementation experience in SAP PLM or Team Center PDM solutions that include integration to SAP
  • SAP Application Design and Configuration with experience in the following modules:
    • Engineering Change Management (ECM)
    • Workflow
    • CAD Integration – Electrical and Mechanical
    • Material Management/Product Structure Management/Production Planning
    • Variant Configurator
    • DMS
  • Experience in global multi-site collaborative design projects using SAP systems
  • Working knowledge of general engineering and documentation control practices

SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex concepts and functions to non-SAP personnel
  • Highly motivated and able to work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong design and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage own time effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a fast paced work environment
